Most of you know that I help Ricky produce wedding videos. I help shoot them and then do most of the editing while Ricky does all that other stuff involved in putting one together--not to minimize, he does a LOT, too. Anyway, since he deals with the brides, all of the praise--and complaints--get heaped on him while most of them have no idea who I am. That doesn't really bother me because I tend to take all of the compliments as belonging to both of us.
Last night, we shot a wedding in downtown Fort Worth and at the reception a couple approached me and asked if I was Ricky. I said no, but that I worked for Cake Video and they told me how Ricky had done their daughter's wedding over the summer and told me where it was and all. It just so happened that I had edited that video and I proceeded to describe it to them. Their faces lit up when they saw that I remembered it. I told them that I had edited it, and they proceeded to heap all that praise that Ricky normally gets onto me! The dad even told me that he almost broke down crying the first time he watched it. Needless to say, I nearly burst my buttons as my chest swelled with pride.
