Around The Neighborhood

| | Comments (0)

I think I've finally met all of our neighbors. By the sound of it, EVERYONE has gone over and checked out the house being built across the street. I guess I shouldn't make fun of Chris and Granny for checking out the progress the other day. Some kids from a few blocks over thought it looked like a great place to hang out and smoke pot. Officer Chris and her buddies from the FW police department put a stop to that quick. I can't believe our neighborhood has potheads. That really disappoints me.

While we were hanging out in our front yard, we shot some pics of the neighbor's yard. He swears he'll have his weed problem under control by this weekend. I hope he's right.

I used to think our kids grew like weeds, but this green-meany put our young uns to shame!

My neighbor across the street is a BEER MAN! He gave me a couple of 12 packs of beer yesterday. Talk about being neighborly. I traded him a bottle of SAS brew. I think I got the better end of that deal. The best part was, this guy brought over beer BOTTLES. Every good beer man knows that cans are for corn and college kids.

Did This Spring Break Feel Shorter?

| | Comments (1)

I know I shouldn't complain because our Oklahoman brethren really did have shortened Spring Breaks, but this year's really flew by. After looking back through our pictures, it's easy to see why. We've thrown up 2 new albums for your viewing pleasure. We're going to try out doing this on Flickr to save us some storage space. We made 2 albums, one for Spring Break

and the other for our visit to Fossil Rim.

I tried writing captions for each one but just ran out of steam after a while. Enjoy!

Noah's Teacher?

| | Comments (0)

The other day, pulling into the school parking lot to pick up Myra ....

NOAH: "Look, Mommy! It's Myra's school!" .... (then whining) "Mommy, I want to see Ms Maddox."
MOMMY: "Oh? You want to see Myra's teacher?"
NOAH: (angry) "NO! Noah's teacher!"

I hope Ms Maddox doesn't plan on moving anytime soon.

I finally got around to pulling some pics off of the cameras and I came across quite a few good ones. Here are some teasers to show you what we have in store:

Myra's First Steps

| | Comments (2)

I was cleaning out the old My Documents folder while I waited for our internet to get fixed and I ran across an old video that shows our little sweetie hoofing it across Aunt Doo Doo's hardwood floors for the very first time. It's a sweet little clip that gives me a warm-fuzzy just thinking about it.

Here's to 58 Happenin' Years!

Today is Granddaddy's 58th birthday. While he's out winning big so he can buy his baby girl ... I mean ... his grand-babies a new Ford Expedition XLT (the one with the third row seats), I'm posting this ....

Wild Animal Loose in Fort Worth

Myra had a very scary experience with a large overgrown rodent this weekend. It might have left her emotionally scarred for life. The animal in question? This guy:

We went to a birthday party on Saturday and the only one more pumped than Myra to be there was Noah. He squealed like a stuck pig when he finally realized where we were going. He was tough to keep up with and really enjoyed all of the little rides. Myra was having a great time until Chuck E came out to say hi to all the kids. She ran to the back of the dining area and told me how she was ready to go home RIGHT NOW! Finally, Chuck E disappeared and she rejoined her group just in time for cake, but Chuck just wasn't done yet. He reappeared near Myra and she froze with fear. Once the mouse turned his back, she sprinted back to the safety of Mom's arms. After a while, she allowed Chris to take her back for more cake but made sure that Mom was standing guard right behind her. I asked her about it on the way home and she got real quiet. I think she was a little embarrassed.

Welcome Great Grandma Jewel!

We'd like to give a great big hairy welcome to Great Grandma Jewel. She recently joined the fun here on the Davis Family Blog (thanks to a little help from Granddaddy).

Grandma Jewel,
Myra's begging for a trip to California. We're WAY overdue for CA trip anyway ... It's been 6+ years for Josh and the last time Myra and I were out there, I was five months pregnant with Noah. We'll have to plan something.

The Park Bully

|

Today was a beautiful day. It was a little on the windy side but the sun was shining and the skies were clear. Some of the moms from my playgroup decided to take advantage of the weather and meet at one of the local parks. We needed to let the kids go crazy someplace other than our homes and to have some adult conversation.

While chatting with one of the other moms, I heard a scream followed by crying. I did what any mother does ... I did a quick head count. Noah and Hannah were fine but this girl who had to be about four-years-old was carrying on as if she broke a bone. She wasn't part of our group but, of course, we watched just to make sure everything was taken care of ... and to get the "scoop" on what happened.

The mother of this girl went over to comfort her baby while "Big Brother" continually asked "What's wrong? Why is she crying?" The mother didn't answer. Instead, she said "Come on, [Big Brother]. We're leaving ... NOW." While her and her children walked aways (girl in arms ... still crying) she said "That girl over there screamed at [Little Sister] because she didn't want to share the steering wheel. It wasn't very nice." Who was this bully who was so scary she made a whole family leave the park? Our very own Hannah Grace.

I still can't believe that this woman actually packed up her kids and left the park because little Hannah screamed at her daughter. Good Grief! Her daughter is twice Hannah's size! That girl's going to have issues ... MAJOR issues.
