Heartwarming Sights<

| | Comments (0)

I got a couple of sweet pictures to show you guys. The first one is of Hannah and Drew getting some lubbins. Nothing sweeter than babies! The second one is a shot of one of the few B-17's left in the world that can still fly. You might think that airplanes aren't warm and fuzzy, but I assure you they are. I was lucky enough to be outside with the camera one afternoon when it cruised over. Definitely heart-warming! On to the pictures!

Now What?<

I'm sitting here waiting for Noah's doctor's office (yes, I said doctor's office) to return my call. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday night (around 1:30am), he's been getting up and .... filling a bowl. Afterwards, he's been going right back to sleep. Each following morning, he's gone back to being "just Noah".

Now, between all these nights, I had dealt with a 24 hour ... thing. Myra had added some decorative touches to a Wendy's. (I don't think they liked it.) Hannah decided her car sear needed a little something extra and Drew has been going through the diapers like crazy. Not a one of us has had a fever.

We thought what I had was food poisoning and it still might have been. No one else has had the symptoms I had. The kids have all bounced right back wanting to eat and running around. I didn't look at food. I didn't want to smell food. Just the thought of food made my tummy gurgle. I just wanted to crawl under a rock and let the world spin without me but I was too busy making trips to and from the bathroom. (BTW, Josh was kind enough to stay home from work on Monday and help me out. It was greatly appreciated.)

So back to Noah ... I'm still waiting for the office to call me back. They sounded incredibly busy when I called. I'm glad he doesn't have anything serious. He just has something (as the receptionist at the doctor's office said) "weird". Why can't our child be "normal"?

UPDATE: The nurse called this afternoon. After consulting with the doctor, they think that Noah may have reflux. So off to the pharmacy we go for yet another prescription for a medicine that helps with nausea and vomiting. He's to try that for five days. If he doesn't get better (or gets worse) he is to see the doctor ASAP.

When Flowers Attack<

I was going through some wedding footage and this shot just really stood out in my mind. This young groom got more than he bargained for when he let the bride pick out his boutonnière.

OK, so maybe it's just a little optical illusion with the bridesmaid's boquet, but it still looks like a great addition to that tux!

Stroud Christmas Parade<

So, I finally got around to picking through the pics we took in Stroud when we were up there for Sarah and Mike's Wedding Reception. We took a ton of cool pictures at the Stroud Christmas Parade that happened earlier in the day. It was a lot of fun. The kids got to ride on the fire truck and all the floats threw candy. Big city parades have nothing on this! Check out the gallery by clicking on the picture:

The Five Days Of Zithromax<

The first day of Zithromax ... I told Noah he "could either take it like a big boy or we could go back to the doctor and get a poke in the hiney." He chose to take it like a big boy ... the big boys that you have to sit on, wrap your finger in a towel so that you can hold their teeth open, shove the meds WAY BACK in the throat and then hold the nose so they'll swallow. (Now you know why I opted for the shot previously).

The second day of Zithromax ... we started out the same way "NO! I DON'T LUB MY MEDICINE!" followed by "You can take it like a big boy or we can go to the doctor for another shot in the hiney." He took it like a big boy ... with me sitting on him with a towel around my finger.

On the third day of Zithromax ... same thing. Only this time it didn't go as ... smoothly? Noah walked his hiney to the garage and climbed into his car seat crying "I want to go to the doctor." So I ended up dragging him out and sitting on him ... again.

On the forth day of Zithromax ... I tried mixing it with some Orange Soda. He actually drank it!

On the fifth day of Zithromax ... out comes the Orange Soda. This time, however ... "Nooooo, that Orange Sprite is YUCKY!" He drank a little bit of it with me telling him I was going to drink it if he didn't but he never drank it all. Since it was his last dose, I obviously didn't have anymore to sit on him with. He got what he got and that was the end.

Now the little man is on Claritin. Amazingly enough, he doesn't seem to mind taking his "Purple Candy" and it works. I guess we'll just have to budget in about $30 a month for this magic pill ... I mean sweet. It's totally worth it. I just hope his body doesn't build up an ... immunity to the stuff so that it doesn't work anymore and we end up having to try the $90 Singular. I have it on hold at the pharmacy just in case.

Will It Ever End?<

Wednesday night ... 10:45pm to be a little more exact. Noah comes into our room saying that his tummy hurts and he needs to go potty. Strange but ... okay. After a trip to the potty, he starts telling me that he needs to "spit up" (I think that's pretty self explanatory) and wants a bowl.

I'm not exactly sure but somehow Noah ended up on the couch (bowl in hand) with Daddy in the recliner and I ended up back in bed. Next thing I know, Noah's back in my room making this horrible burping noise followed by ... well, Daddy had a floor to clean while Mommy cleaned up the boy.

After our long night, I called the doctor and set an appointment. I told the nurse over the phone that we had just had Noah in about three weeks ago for an ear infection along with the upper respiratory infection. I told her that he was given an antibiotic shot but nothing seemed to have changed other than him not complaining about his ear. He still had a nasty cough which was now accompanied by a nasty green nose.

Cut to the doctor's visit (which took a good hour and a half out of our evening - and that's not counting the drive) ...

The good news is, his ear is all clear ... not even any fluid! The bad news? It's ALL sinuses! Noah's received a prescription for Zithromax. After researching it a bit .... YIKES! This does NOT sound like something a three-year-old should be taking. I trust the doctor, though, and I'm certain that it's not the same dosage a grown up would take but ... YIKES!

We'll keep our fingers crossed that (1) this stuff will work and (2) it won't be knock down drag out that we usually go through giving medicine to the boy. I'd hate see how having a do an allergy test would go over with the little man.

I need to look into how this claiming medical expenses works on taxes. I'm sure it's all the wrong type of "medical" but I'm pretty sure we've either reached the minimum or are getting close to reaching it. ;)

Somebody LOVES Me!<

The past few days, I've been a little "under the weather". I went back and forth between thinking it was a major allergy attack and thinking it was one heck of a cold. Either way, I was MISERABLE! Tonight was the first time I've felt well enough to clean. It was a much needed cleaning too.

Now that you've had a little bit of background, I'll get to the point.

Normally, dirty dishes make me cringe. Tonight, I smiled! Who wouldn't after finding this?

This is the cup I used to make HOT tea in while I was sick. Obviously, Somebody knew this mommy needed a little extra TLC.
