VeggieTales<

Once upon a time, there was a little boy. He was very big for his age and seemed to like it that way. How was he to stay a head above the rest? By eating his vegetables of course!

Myra has never been a big veggie girl ... "Mashed potatoes and corn are the ONLY vegetables I like." Imagine our surprise when Noah started munching on Papa's salad not so way back when. Since then, Noah's enjoyed corn, green beans, broccoli and, his most recent discovery, asparagus! Josh and I are floored by this. It's GREAT!

I guess Noah just wants to make sure he reaches that estimated full grown height of 6 foot 3-4 inches tall. The way he's going, he'll get there by age 6. ;)

I've decided that I would post the secret recipe for the asparagus that Noah likes. It's SUPER simple ...

Ingredients: Fresh Asparagus and Lemon Pepper Seasoning

Directions: Snap ends of asparagus by holding each end and bending. Steam asparagus (we use a steaming basket - all of about $5 - inserted into a regular pot with about a half inch of water) until just tender. Season to taste.

Told you it was SUPER simple.

Myra had a checkup at the dentist today. She was VERY excited to go. She is the exact opposite of me. I hated going to the dentist. She got a great report and she came home very pumped up to show off her loot. She got a sticker and a toothbrush and a slap-bracelet of all things. I thought those things were extinct. Anyway, while we went through all her cool new stuff she told me the dentist had told her that her teeth were the most beautiful she had ever seen and the best part was...NO CABBAGES! I think she meant cavities. Either way, we're very proud of the dentist's report.

Been a while since we've posted. We've been kinda busy trying to keep up with Project 366, and we're pretty proud that we've made it 18 days in a row without missing one. Other than that, things have been pretty slow around here. Luckily, we have a 3 day weekend coming up so I just KNOW that we'll have some cool things to write about soon!

A Year in the Life<

I've always kind of had this urge to try a "Year in the Life" project where we take pictures every day to chronicle life in the Davis family. I've talked about it with Chris before, but never have been motivated enough to do it. Our good friend Anna over at Run With the Fishes called our bluff when she invited us/challenged us to join her new Flickr group called small project 366. We're going to try to take and post 1 picture for EVERY day of the year. As you can see, we didn't start small like trying a whole week or a month. No we went for the whole year...and not just any year, but LEAP year. That's the way we roll around here. The reason I bring this up, besides shamelessly tooting my own horn, is because you may have noticed something new over there on the left below the Links. That fancy-shmancy thing is a cool little Flickr badge that shows off all our pics that we've contributed to the project 366. You can also use it as a shortcut to see all the group pictures. So, check us out!

Wii Would Like to Play<

We're just now getting around to posting this set of pics that we took on Christmas when Grandaddy hooked his Wii up and we did some old fashioned video-game butt-kicking. Maybe later we'll get the rest of our Xmas pics up. Click on the pic to see the gallery.

He Said It<

Noah has said a few things the past few days that have just made us laugh. Since I don't think we have the "They Said It" page anymore (I don't think we've had it for a while), I wanted to record the quotes here.

--- Myra had asked Noah "What's 100 plus 100?" Noah responds with great certainty "WalMart!"

--- Aunt Sarah had asked Noah "Who's in the Holy Family?" Noah answers "My mommy, my daddy, my sister and my train table."

--- We're watching Saturday Night Live in the 90's and they show Norm McDonald doing his Weekend Update sketch. Norm is talking about Kenny G's new Christmas Album ... "Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus. I hope you like crap." Noah states angrily "NO! Baby Jesus doesn't like crap!"
