SURPRISE!

Spring Break was super busy.  Friday after work, we loaded up the car and headed to Stroud stopping in Seminole for some catfish.  After we closed to place down, we finished our journey so that we could get up the next day and head on into Stillwater to celebrate something BIG ... my dad's 60th birthday!

It was a surprise party about two and a half months in the making.  The family met Shawn, Rachel and Angie at the church's parish hall to decorate.  Dad thought they were out shopping and he had no idea our family was even in Oklahoma.  About 6pm, a call is put through to Dad saying that the toilets at the church are overflowing.  Dad freaks and rushes over.  By the time he arived, the place was all decked out and all the guests had arrived.  It was great!

The theme of the party was a "roast".  It wasn't quite the kind where the honoree gets ... well ... burned but more of the kind where people got up and shared how Dad had touched their lives changing it forever.  He had friends from the church, friends from work and of course his family all telling stories.  We even had the pleasure of hearing a song by one of his retired police buddies about Dad riding his Harley Davidson police motorcycle.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating a wonderful man.  Happy Birthday Dad!
