Fallin Behind

| | Comments (0)
We're falling behind on posts!  Noah started school (we covered that - he hasn't had another bad day since the first), Myra celebrated her seventh birthday by playing putt putt and arcade games with her friends, Davis Day care is back in full swing, Myra has started second grade (Meet the Teacher was last Thursday) and soccer.  All of this occurred in just the past two weeks!  Maybe this weekend we can patch up but we can't guarantee that ... We're headed to Stroud to meet the newest addition to the Davis Family!  Yet another thing to post about.  So, be looking for a few posts here soon.

From Myra To Daddy

Dear Daddy,

Me and Mommy were making this for you.

Some of the things I like to do with my daddy ...
- help him with cleaning the bathroom
- playing games
- helping clean up and wash the dishes
- going out out to eat with him
- going treasure hunting
- going swimming

I love you. Happy Father's Day!

Love, Myra

Seven Years Ago Today

| | Comments (0)

It's hard to believe, but it has been seven years since the day that Chris and I said our I Do's. I was planning on surprising Chris with these pics, but she found out about them so I guess I'll just toss them up for everyone to look at. Man was I good looking back then. Click the picture for more photos from that day.

Welcome Great Grandma Jewel!

| | Comments (1)

We'd like to give a great big hairy welcome to Great Grandma Jewel. She recently joined the fun here on the Davis Family Blog (thanks to a little help from Granddaddy).

Grandma Jewel,
Myra's begging for a trip to California. We're WAY overdue for CA trip anyway ... It's been 6+ years for Josh and the last time Myra and I were out there, I was five months pregnant with Noah. We'll have to plan something.
We Love Ya!

Movin' on up

So, posting has been light recently cuz we've been super busy moving into our new house. We haven't posted about it yet because it was a surprise for Grandaddy and Mimi's visit. It's a great house near my and Myra's school and we love it! I'm sure Chris will tell you all about it in an upcoming post. Until then, tide yourself over with this picture of the front of it. I'm off to work on the Yearbook!

Anybody Want a Tennis Racquet?

| | Comments (0)

We found an item that missed the HUGE garage sale and we thought we'd try to eBay it. Unfortunately, it's not worth a ton and it looks like it'll be a big pain to ship so does anyone want this tennis racquet? It's a Prince Gravity TI Force 3 that is from the lost and found a couple of years ago. It's in great shape, but we just don't play tennis. If you want it, drop me a line.

**UPDATE** It's found a new home.

Lucky number 300!

| | Comments (0)

Eight months ago on September 11th, we made our 200th post. Today we hit 300! I don't have a whole lot to talk about, but I just happened to notice that we were sitting at 299 and I just had to add one.

I spent all morning playing Paul Bunyan with the chainsaw, finishing up the clearing of that punk tree that DARED fall on our car. I don't know how old-timey lumberjacks did it. I just spent 2 or 3 hours with the help of a chainsaw and I felt like I'd run a marathon with a 50 pound pack on my back.

This is my second night of being a bachelor and it's stormy AGAIN! Last night, there was some wicked thunder and lightning that kept me up for about an hour. I spent most of that hour curled up in the corner crying softly.* I'll never understand how kids can sleep through that stuff.

Tomorrow, a friend of mine is taking me flying in his Beechcraft Bonanza. He tells me his plane is an aerobatic version that is beefed up for fancy maneuvers like loops and rolls. Since this is the first time I've ever flown in a light plane, I hope he doesn't feel the need to show me any of those. Needless to say, I'm super-pumped. I'm taking a small camcorder and a point-n-shoot digicam up with me. I'm sure there will be a post or two all about it soon.

*may not be true

UPDATE -- Crappy weather on Saturday morning so we postponed our flight for a couple of weeks. At least Myra and Chris will get to go this time.

New Photo Gallery

| | Comments (0)

Finally, we got around to throwing up a photo gallery for the blog. We're using Gallery, a free program that really makes building galleries super easy. Right now the design is pretty plain, and to tell you the truth, I dooubt I'll do a whole lot to it because I'm really digging the clean look. Our first Album is a collection of pictures from a couple of weekends ago when Chris and the kids met the Stuevers over at the Dallas Aquarium. We have a few more sets of pictures in the pipe right now, so look for some more active posting in the near future. You can view our new gallery by clicking on the "Photo Gallery" link to the left or by clicking here.

PS -- you'll have to use your browser back button to get back until I figure out how to add a link back here.
