I hate tattoos. I'll never have one. EVER! There isn't a lot of things that I know I'll want drawn on my body 40 years from now, but I do know that if I ever find one, I won't want it drawn on by some scary guy in Deep Ellum with a sharp instrument in one hand and a Miller High Life in the other. While unpacking, Chris came across this temporary tattoo in the bottom of a box. It was my main man Homestar Runner, so of course, he had to be put on! Here it is. My very first tattoo, fake or real (yes, I'm that opposed to tattoos).

We added the pictures of Noah's party to Flickr so mozy over there and check them out. We also threw in a couple of summer fun shots as well.
The other night, we ate at Zio's, we had some of their French bread dipped into the mixed herbs and olive oil. Today, I decided to try and make some bread so we could have some of that home. During the cooking process, I had to call and ask Mom for some advice, so I thought I'd show her how it turned out. I followed this recipe from Suite101.com (first one that popped up on Google). The only change was substituting olive oil for shortning. It takes FOREVER, but the results were worth it. Chris had some dipping spice from Pampered Chef that was pretty good. Not as good as Zio's, but still tasty. Click the pic for a treat for your eyes!
Myra's third soccer game was a big success. Her team won 3-0 and she played really well. She got an assist when her shot at the goal got helped along by Michael. If he hadn't kicked it, I think she would have scored it on her own. She also played GREAT defense. She is getting so much better at being aggressive when the ball is bearing down on her. The sprinklers came on during the game and forced us to move to another field. As soon as we got there, the sprinklers went off and we returned. The field next to us had sprinklers going as well, meaning that the crowd was getting "watered." We ended up sitting in the endzone for half the game. The club that owns the field is not winning any fans from our team. Anyway, we added some pics to Flickr so you should check them out. Here's a couple of our favorites:
Yep, it's that time of year again. Time for lightning, thunder, rain, tornado watches and warnings and, everyone's favorite, hail. Last night, we were hit with a good sized hail storm.
Josh is away at Camp Goddard for the week. Myra has been pretty emotional having him gone. I was able to distract her for a couple hours with the help of about 12 of my friends. (I hosted a Pampered Chef party and it was great!) The last person left around 9:30. I got the kids in bed ASAP while I watched a lightning show out the back windows of the house. I kept my fingers crossed that Myra wouldn't notice. She didn't.
By 10:30 I have the kids asleep and the house almost put back together. I was getting ready to put myself to bed when I heard a loud "CRACK!" Not long after the first, there was another ... and then another. They came faster and faster getting louder and louder. My first thought? "God, you're going to wake up Myra!" I decided to go check on her. Sure enough, her eyes were wide open and her whole body was shivering under the covers.
We did our usual cuddling on the couch with the laptop tracking the storm as it past over us. We took some time to listen to the hail beat the tar out of the house, stop for about 10 to 15 seconds then start all over again. I kept waiting for the windows to give (not letting Myra know what I was thinking) but they held up perfectly. Around 11:15, we were finally able to go to bed.
I didn't get any pictures of my own but here is one someone nearby took.
I double checked everything this morning and couldn't find any damage. The property management company, however, is going to be sending someone this way to check the roof. I know. I was shocked too. They won't take care of the foundation, they'll do a quick fix with used materials and they'll paint over water damage without checking for mold but they'll make sure the roof is good? Whatever. It's not our problem come August 31st.

Another day older and deeper in debt! That song runs through my head when I look at this picture of Andrew taken at Granny's house. He got into some used charcoal that was thrown out in the weeds. I have no idea how he got sooo much on his face. I gotta give credit to Anna on this one. She grabbed my camera and snapped this pic. NICE ONE!
Perfect end to a great wedding. Here comes the kiss. In focus, rock solid, looking great. Nothing could spoil this shot....
