Kinda Steamy Out There<

This morning, on our walk to the park, it was already getting hot.  Myra says to us, "It's hotter than Steamed Bacon out here!"  To be honest, that pretty much summed it up.

Taylor Swift Rocks<

On the way to the surgery center for Noah's tonsillectomy, Chris and I were listening to the radio and some Rage Against the Machine came on.  (I added some links so my mom can understand this).  "Who sings this one?"  I asked Chris.  Before she could answer, Noah piped up with, "I think this is Taylor Swift."

Boys vs. Girls<

This evening, on the way home, Myra asked why my school has two gyms.  I explained that our boys have a gym and our girls have a gym.  Upon hearing that, Noah piped up, "Boys are THE number ONE!  Girls are number TWO!"  Of course, Myra and Mommy didn't like the sound of that, but I like the way he thinks!  :)

Mary had a WHAT?!?!<

Noah has really been saying some funny things lately.  Tonight, he snuck out of bed a few minutes after bedtime and said, "Daddy, I can't sleep.  I keep thinking about Doogie Doogie Mary had a little Man."

I have no idea where the Doogie Doogie came from, but I had to call him on the "man" part. "Don't you mean little LAMB?"  I corrected.

"No!  Not a lamb.  A MAN!  Like a boy man!"

Whatever floats his boat, I guess.  I imagine it's a little leprechaun or helpful gnome or something that helps her find her sheep.  I could use a little dude like that.

Noah Donovan: Good Jobber<

Noah likes to help out around the house sometimes.  My favorite part of him doing this is when he tells me how proud he is and how much fun he's having.  He keeps telling me, "I a good jobber, Daddy."  I think I have to agree with that.

Funny Guy<

Noah has really been giving us some gems lately.  The other day we were talking about something and I said, "That doesn't make sense."  he shot back, "Yes!  Yes it does make dollars!"

This evening I was surfing the web and he was playing beside me.  Needing a little TLC, he said, "Daddy, do you got a minute?...are you free?"  I couldn't believe his choice of words.  He sounded like the boss about to tell me some bad news or something.  It was so cute.  So I said, "Yes, I'm free."  Then, in his punch-line voice he says, "Yeah, well I'm four!"  Chris and I were rolling.

Not a Cool Kid<

Noah and I were playing Super Mario 3 on the Wii this afternoon.  He likes to play the head to head old school Mario Bros game.  His main purpose seems to be stealing cards from me and this time I stole a card from him.  He got mad and said, "Daddy!  You're not one of the cool kids anymore!"  Poor guy, doesn't know that I've NEVER been one of the cool kids.  :)

We Love Kids' Club<

While driving past 24 Hour Fitness today, Noah says excitedly ...

"I see Kids' Club!  Look!  There's the sign!  It says 'Kids' Club!' "

THIS is the sign he saw ...

Last night, we went to good ol' Jack In The Box for dinner.  Myra being the adventurous eater she's been lately wanted to try their tacos.  She ate a whole one even though I don't think she really cared for it.  Noah actually ate his entire meal ... chicken BEFORE curly fries!  We decided to reward our big kids with a large Oreo shake for all to share.  As we're passing the cup around the table (Noah's suggestion on how to share), Noah says "Mmm ... I like the chocolate rocks in this ice cream!"

Eight IS Great!<

Today is wedding anniversary number EIGHT!  Trying to come up with something somewhat romantic to post while kids scream in the background is not an easy task.  I decided to search for some inspiration.  I finally found the perfect words ... by someone else.  (It's the thought that counts right?)

"The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a growing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life."  ~Hugh Walpole, Sr.

Here's to eight wonderful years.  I wouldn't change a single day of it.
